Welcome to the Great Writer 100. This manual covers the physical mode switch, Bluetooth pairing, key functions, backlight customization, and battery use. Keep this document for future reference.

Physical Mode Switch

The Great Writer 100 features a three-position physical switch on the side of the keyboard. Slide to the appropriate position before connecting.

Bluetooth

Wireless connection via Bluetooth 3.0 or 5.0. Supports up to 3 paired devices.

2.4G Wireless

Connect via the included USB dongle. Plug in the receiver and slide to G.

USB Wired

Connect with USB-C cable. Also charges the battery when in U mode.

Charging

Set switch to U, insert USB-C cable. During charging, the FN key LED turns red and syncs with the backlight. Input voltage must be 5V / 1A. Do not expose to direct sunlight — overvoltage may damage the product and void warranty.

WIN Mode

Press FN+A to activate Windows mode. Standard Windows key mapping applies.

MAC Mode

macOS / iOS

FNS

Press FN+S to activate Mac mode. Win key ↔ Command, Alt ↔ Option. F1–F12 work directly without FN.

Bluetooth pairing — with switch in B position:

Bluetooth Device 1

Hold FN+Q until LED flashes rapidly. On your device, search for GW-100 BT3.0 or GW-100 BT5.0 and connect. LED stops flashing when paired.

Bluetooth Device 2

Hold FN+W until LED flashes rapidly. Search and connect from your second device.

Bluetooth Device 3

Hold FN+E until LED flashes rapidly. Search and connect from your third device.

Switching devices: In B mode, short-press FN+Q/W/E to switch between already-paired devices. Long-press to re-enter pairing mode for that channel.

2.4G: Slide switch to G, plug USB receiver into PC, and the keyboard connects automatically — no additional setup needed.

Wired: Slide switch to U, connect USB-C cable between keyboard and PC. Keyboard functions normally while charging.

Note: Screen brightness shortcuts (FN+F1/F2) only work on computers whose display supports software brightness adjustment.

MAC Mode — Key Guide

In Mac mode (FN+S), Win key and Alt key are swapped to match macOS layout. F1–F12 work directly without FN. Use FN+F1–F12 to send the standard function key codes.

Backlight Controls

Control backlight mode, brightness, direction, and color using the FN combinations below.

Custom RGB Recording

The Great Writer 100 supports per-key custom lighting. You can record your own backlight pattern and save it to the keyboard's memory.

Recording Key

FN + Home = Enter / exit custom backlight recording mode

Enter Custom Mode

Press FN + 1, FN + 2, FN + @, or FN + 3# to enter one of the custom lighting slots. All LEDs will turn on to indicate you are in custom mode.

Start Recording

Press FN + Home to enter recording mode. All backlight LEDs will light up fully.

Assign Keys & Colors

Select the keys you want to light up. Choose your preferred colors for each key using the color cycle function.

Save & Exit

Press FN + Home again to exit recording mode and save your custom pattern. The keyboard stores the layout in memory and it persists after power cycling.

Note: Custom RGB recording is only available on the full-RGB version of Great Writer 100. Single-color backlight models do not support custom recording.

Battery & Charging

Input	5V / 1A via USB-C. Do not exceed rated voltage — overvoltage voids warranty.
Charging	Set switch to U, connect USB-C cable. FN key LED turns red and syncs with backlight during charging.
Caution	Do not leave the keyboard in direct sunlight. Store at room temperature. Avoid prolonged exposure to heat sources.
Factory Reset	Hold FN + Del for 3 seconds. All Bluetooth pairing data and custom settings will be cleared.
