The Great Writer 75 definition is already built into Oddity VIA. Connect the keyboard by USB-C and open the configurator; keep the JSON file as a manual import fallback.
Great Writer 75 firmware update: fixes the RGB / key conflict bug
If your Great Writer 75 shows conflicts between lighting controls and key input, this firmware resolves that issue. We recommend updating in wired USB-C mode and keeping the keyboard connected until flashing is complete.
Before updating: switch the keyboard to wired mode first, then enter Boot mode. Do not unplug the cable or change connection modes while flashing.
- Download and install QMK Toolbox.
- Connect the keyboard by USB-C and switch it to wired mode.
- Load the firmware file in QMK Toolbox, then hold FN + Left Shift + Esc for about 3 seconds to enter Boot mode.
- Click Flash, wait for completion, then reconnect the keyboard.
Layout Notes
The Great Writer 75 uses a compact 75% layout with a full function row, a right-side navigation column, and a separated arrow cluster. Compatible with standard MX-mount keycap sets.
