Wood Care Guide
Great Writer Series · North American Black Walnut
Natural Wood Characteristics
Just as a great writer's manuscript carries ink marks and annotations, the "imperfections" of solid wood are its autobiography. Even FAS-grade North American Black Walnut cannot avoid these natural expressions of the earth — none of the following are quality defects.
Before You Buy
The Great Writer series is a customized wooden product. Once the outer seal is removed, it cannot be returned under the standard 7-day no-reason return policy. Please confirm your choice and requirements before ordering.
Quality issues within 7 days may be returned — provided the outer seal has not been removed. Product must be in original condition.
Quality issues within 15 days may be exchanged — provided the outer seal has not been removed. Original packaging, all accessories, and any gifts must be returned complete. No visible damage to the keyboard.
Covers manufacturing defects. Does not cover: moisture damage to wood body, cracking due to humidity or heat, lacquer wear, natural scratches, or physical damage from impact.
Different production batches will have variation in grain pattern, knots, and color tone — this is expected and normal for solid wood. Slight color differences between product photos and actual item are normal due to lighting and photography.
Avoid high-power charging devices — including direct wall chargers and power banks. These can cause circuit overload and damage the electronics.
Recommended: Charge via computer USB port only.
Please record a complete unboxing video immediately upon receipt, before removing the outer seal. If any issues arise, the unboxing video is required for warranty processing. Without a video, warranty assessment may not be possible.
Wood Care Guide
Solid wood is a living material. A few habits maintained consistently will keep your Great Writer looking and feeling beautiful for years.
-
Keep Away from Heat SourcesKeep your keyboard away from heaters, air conditioning vents, and hand warmers. Sustained dry heat = cracking.
-
Apply Wood Oil WeeklyUse wood wax oil or walnut oil — apply a thin coat to the wood body, wait 5 minutes, then wipe clean. Do not let oil contact the switches or keycaps.
-
Acclimate Before UseWhen bringing the keyboard from cold outdoor temperatures to a warm room, let it rest for 10 minutes before use to prevent thermal shock cracking.
-
Store ProperlyWhen not in use, place in the felt inner bag or dust box to prevent the wood from drying out through exposure.
-
Gentle CleaningWipe along the grain with a slightly damp soft cloth, then air dry immediately. No alcohol, wet wipes, or direct water.
-
Maintain HumidityKeep indoor humidity at 40–60%. Pay extra attention during northern China heating seasons — use a small humidifier if needed.
-
Avoid ImpactAvoid drops and heavy pressure. Wood edges have limited impact resistance — always place the keyboard gently, lifting from the base.
-
Crack First AidIf fine cracks appear, apply wood wax oil immediately — twice, 12 hours apart. The earlier you treat, the better the outcome.
